This air bag kit comes with our small digital in cab kit. This kit replaces the coil springs in the rear of all IRS Commodores VT to VZ.. VT VU VY VZ – Utes, Sedans and Wagons all with IRS (Independant Rear Suspension)&#######xA0. Here are some reasons why people replace coils with bags in their commodores&#####x2026. Bags are softer than coils. If they were any softer it would sit lower so safe to say as soft as possible at a given height. Carry heavy loads &#####x2013; like car trailers or caravans. Just add more air until the car sits level. Control how low you want to go but letting air out and then add air to lift it to clear driveways, etc. This kit in it&#####x2019;s standard form lowers the car as low as you can go without compromising the integrity of the car. The top mount sits over the top bump stop. To sit a bit lower than bump stops it does involve cutting off the lower bump stop from the lower control arms and bolts to the lower spring mounts using holes that already exist. We visited 2 local wreckers and both had complete lanes of commodores all with lower control arms. But note the top bump stops are a part of the car so we dont cut those off. If you wanted to sit even lower then you could cut off the top bump stops and reach out to us so we can configure your kit with bolt in top mounts as well as bolt in bottom mounts. Keep things safe by not going over 60 psi in the air bags and a good rule of thumb when loaded is what ever you have in your tyres – put the same&#######xA0;in your air bags. &#####x200B;&#####x200B;&#####x200B;&#####x200B;&#####x200B;&#####x200B;&#####x200B;They are rated to still be effective with up to 2.5t over the back axle which in most cases is way more than you should be carrying and just goes to show the bags are up for what ever you throw at them. Some air bag kits like those that go inside coils&#######xA0;can only offer 450 Kg which is nothing on these. You can not hurt these air bags. There is no maximum pressure because even industrial compressors can not reach the lofty heights of 800 to 1000 psi where these were made. Sticks, stones and sand will not hurt them. The rubber in these bags is heavier than the rubber in your tyres – we have people who live on cattle stations and have horrid corrugated gibber roads and they never have issues. There is no rubbing parts and they will not wear out. The end plates are 6mm steel rather than 5mm and we dont make do with C channel like others but instead use 3mm RHS where possible for added strength. And heavier steel means we crank up the welder and get deeper stronger welds.
